Marketing Directors, Regional Directors, HQ staff from The Marketing Centre, representatives from The Marketing Centre UK and the FD Centre all gathered together in Hout Bay, Cape Town on the 1st September to meet, share ideas, collaborate and learn from one another at The Marketing Centre 2017 Conference.
Sally and Lucy Hogarth (The Marketing Centre Co-Founder) kicked off the conference with an inspirational update on both the UK and SA businesses, highlighting the overall growth of the group to date and the exciting reveal of a fresh new look for The Marketing Centre.
Mrs Shameem Kumandan of Washtub and Marketing Director Carolyn Dobbie shared an entertaining and motivating Case Study, highlighting key milestones in the brand journey of Washtub Industrial Laundry. This client and Marketing Director pair is a brilliant example of what can be achieved when sound marketing strategy is combined with vision, flair and attention to detail!
Italian lock manufacturer, CISA, is a long-standing client of The Marketing Centre and so it was an honour for our broader team to meet CISA CEO, Warren Purdue as he shared a case study alongside his Marketing Directors, Joel and Daniel Serman. This team has applied a combination of diligent research and strategic problem solving techniques to create not only new routes to market and but identify an entirely NEW market which has turned a steady sales decline into rapid growth and a new, loyal client base. This client PLAYS TO WIN!
A definite highlight was Peter Ivanoff and Angela Sobey sending the team to war! Leading a stimulating “War Game”, the pair challenged delegates to throw themselves into the trenches of the competition in order to identify areas of vulnerability. We look forward to unpacking some of these ideas in our future team meetings.
No conference is complete without honouring and rewarding the efforts of the team. Peter Ivanoff was nominated Contributor of the Year for consistently contributing his thoughts, tools and learnings with The Marketing Centre Team. “ Team Joel & Dan” walked away with the Marketing Director of the Year award for their outstanding client service and strategic marketing results.

The Marketing Centre Conference 2017 ended on an energetic high with a creative song and dance by the Amoyo Performing Arts Foundation, a beneficiary of The Marketing Centre’s corporate social investment initiatives.
Onwards and upwards for the next conference!
