We know that holiday reading time is valuable, and there's nothing worse than wasting your time and money on a book that you give up on after just a few pages,  so we've put together a list of five reads that come recommended by our team ... Happy Reading!

Essentialism by Greg McKeownEssentialism by Greg McKeown

McKeown defines essentialism as “less but better.”  And in his own words... “If you take one thing away from this book, I hope you will remember this: whatever decision or challenge or crossroads you face in your life, simply ask yourself, ‘What is essential?’ Eliminate everything else.”

This book comes highly recommended by Andre Steenekamp, one of our part-time Marketing Directors based in Cape Town.

Traction by Gino Wickman

Traction by Gino Wickman

Traction Get a Grip On Your Business is a business strategy book written by Gino Wickman that guides leaders of entrepreneurial organizations on how to gain control of their business.

It outlines practical ways of implementing an EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) to better focus, grow and enjoy leading a business. This book comes highly recommended by our UK Team, in particular our Founding Partner Lucy Hogarth.

This book is a  game-changer. It  is 100% research based, and identifies 12 specific "Powers" (behaviours) that drive marketers' business impact and career success. Warning from GoodReads: This is not a marketing book. It's a leadership book for marketers, using the latest research on what works--and what doesn't--in marketing's digital age. Highly recommended by our CEO, Sally Shuttleworth.

This isn't a long read, but it's a good one that comes with a warning from our Marketing Directors to be "shocked, awed and astounded by the levels of smoke and mirrors in the online ad industry".

Creativity incCreativity Inc by Ed Catmull

Not new but a firm favourite. The holidays wouldn't be holidays without some Pixar movies! From Ed Catmull, co-founder (with Steve Jobs and John Lasseter) of Pixar Animation Studios, this is an inspirational book about leading in a way to promote creativity in business.

And that's it - our Top 5 Reads! We hope that you find some time over the Summer Holidays to stick your feet in the sand or dip your toes into a pool, read, and relax!
