Having an insight into what your competitors’ marketing plans are can give a huge advantage. The 2014 Marketing Trends survey carried out by Anna Hutton-North, The Marketing Centre, is now available.
The overall findings show that there is a shift in business’ approach to marketing. Over a third of companies are focusing on just two key areas for 2014:
- Creating client relationships
- Generating sales
In addition:
- Over half of the respondents have increased marketing budgets
- 25% of companies are recruiting to increase their marketing team
The future priorities were also surprising; there has been a great deal of hype around investing in social media; however this technology does not even feature within their priorities. Those companies who want to grow their business are focusing on two areas:
- Big Data: how to extract value from customer information
- Customers driving change
